QSO with 4L0A: Typical QSO with a station that does not give his call. CN2R clearly is not assisted and needs the call of the other station. 4L0A runs spot based pileup. Asking for the call is more than justified. I am amazed how people do not send their call for several minutes desite having many, many QSOs. QSO with HC8A: Helping CN3A just hurts CN2R score. CN2R looses time when helping CN3A get a new conuntry. I am sure this action is not against any rules. CN3A cannot send in an unassisted log, though. Summary: to me CN2R operation sounds good if not excellent.

DQ or not DQ

The methods of HF contest refereeing have been discussed widely during the last few years.
Discussions are waged both by contest committees and contestants in various contest reflectors and web-forums. The terms of CQWW contest final result publication are coming closer.

EY8MM

This year of 2008 was very hard, I was very busy at my work. I failed to put into practice part of my plans of improving the station and installing new antennas. So there were no any serious projects for SSB contest. Entering SSB on LF bands from my QTH seems to be prospectless. I mostly wanted to work missing US states to complete 5BWAS.

Many of us are in the process of preparation for this contest, but some contesters have already lost their chances for participation. For example, Radio-Sport website reports some losers from Russia, Ukraine and some other countries.

".. Obtaining justice, I think that the UU0JM disqualification should be abandoned. Or, following the logics, they should abandon all category changes and disqualify those whose category was changed forcefully. " I believe, the second is true and the only possible way. BTW, I'm pretty sure that just about 2 years ago even in WPX contest re-classification to 'assisted' category was regularly used.
